A room with an eiffel tower view
Nestled in the heart of the 16th arrondissement, Le Metropolitan, Paris Tour Eiffel sits just a short stroll from the Eiffel Tower. After looking at Marriott hotels all across the city for our quick 24-hour Paris getaway, this is the main reason we booked it.
After all, seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle from a hotel balcony is what sat atop my Paris wishlist!
So when we arrived and opened the door to our room—and at the far end of the large suite sat a Juliet balcony with a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower glowing in gold—my breath caught.
It was everything I had dreamed of. An intimate view just for us.
Even better, every time we stepped outside, we were greeted with the tower ahead and, in just ten minutes, we could be standing in Place du Trocadéro, one of the most breathtaking vantage points in the entire city.
This is the kind of hotel that makes you feel like you’re in Paris. Not just because of the location (though that’s exceptional), but because of the way it lingers in your memory. If views of the Eiffel Tower sits atop your wishlist, this hotel delivers.

What Makes This Hotel So Dreamy? The Eiffel Tower, Everywhere You Look
One of the best parts about Le Metropolitan is its unbeatable proximity to the Eiffel Tower.
- Seine River walks, charming cafés, and classic Parisian streets surround you, making every step in the neighborhood feel like part of the experience.
- Step outside the hotel, and WOW… there it is. Simply walk out the front door of the hotel and the Eiffel Tower greets you, sparkling and stunning.
- A short ten-minute walk takes you to Trocadéro, one of the best (if not the best) spots for full, postcard-perfect Eiffel Tower views.
24 Hours in Paris: A Miniature Love Story
Our time was short, but oh, did we live it well.
We arrived in the rain, our cab winding through golden-lit cafes and heart-shaped chairs, past florists and green awnings, the Eiffel Tower flashing in and out of view.
That night, we stood in Trocadéro, watching the Eiffel sparkle. We had planned a dinner picnic on Champs de Mars, but the rain had other ideas. Instead, we found ourselves on the Carette patio, rain tapping the awning, string lights glowing above—enjoying sandwiches, hot chocolate with chantilly cream, and mini macarons to-go.
After just one more sparkly show, we strolled hand in hand through the quiet streets, ending the night beneath the glow of the Arc de Triomphe.
The next morning, after picking up croissants from a cafe down the street, we soaked in every last second of our beautiful room. Then we walked through Trocadéro Gardens, past the Seine, tracing the tower from every angle, including Avenue de Camoëns and Rue de l’Université.
We barely made it to our Catacombs tour, but I’m so glad we did. Haunting and humbling, it slowed us down, drew us into history, and brought reverence to our day.
From there: a walk through the sun-soaked Jardin du Luxembourg (the only sun we saw in Paris!), a moment of gratitude inside the oldest church in the city (Saint-Germain-des-Prés), and a chaotic but fun afternoon at the Louvre. We laughed, got lost, found the Mona Lisa, and soaked in the grandeur of it all.
Our final stop was a quick peek at Notre Dame, still under construction, still beautiful.
Then it was back to the train. Two baguettes. Two glasses of wine. A clink of cups and a toast to Paris from the Eurostar on our way back to London.
How to See the Eiffel Tower Sparkle At Night
Every evening, on the hour, the Eiffel Tower begins its five-minute sparkle show, starting after sunset and continuing until 11:00pm (or 1:00am in summer).
You can watch the magic from your hotel window if you’ve booked a tower-view room at Le Metropolitan, or you can head to one of the nearby photo spots like Place du Trocadéro, Port Debilly, or Champs de Mars.
For photos? We love the sparkle shots from Trocadéro, especially the upper plaza and stairway overlooking the gardens. This is also where you’ll want to be at sunrise for those golden-hour Eiffel photos that feel straight out of a fairytale.

How to Picnic at the Eiffel Tower
If you don’t have a hotel view, a picnic in the Champ de Mars gardens is just as dreamy.
For the perfect setup, stop by Carette (4 Place du Trocadéro) for delicate macarons, buttery sandwiches, and velvety hot chocolate, or grab a curated picnic-to-go from Zia Paris, complete with wine, cheese, and a fresh baguette.
Nearby, you’ll find plenty of local favorites to round out your spread: Monoprix (at Rue du Commerce and Boulevard de Grenelle) is great for snacks, wine, and last-minute supplies. For something indulgent, try the French-Japanese fusion desserts at Sadaharu Aoki. If you’re looking for wine, you can visit Cave de Chaillot (39 Rue de Chaillot) for expert recommendations and warm, welcoming staff.
Then head to the lawn, lay out a blanket, kick off your shoes, and let the Eiffel Tower do the rest.
